Pump.fun, explained

Pump dot fun. Anyone can launch a coin in seconds. Here is how it really works, and how bots play you.

Step one. A creator clicks launch. One billion tokens appear, priced by a bonding curve, no liquidity needed.

Step two, the bonding curve. Every buy pushes the price up. Every sell pulls it down. Early buyers pay the least.

Step three. When the curve fills up, the coin migrates to a real trading pool. Most coins never get this far.

Now the bots. Snipers buy in the first slots.

Bundlers buy with many wallets in the same block or bundle, often together with the token creation, so it looks spread out. The dev is the creator wallet, plus a second creator wallet when the coin has one.

Wash trading fakes the volume. Bots trade with themselves to make the coin look hot.

Then the dump. You buy the hype. They sell straight into you.
